10 Year Anniversary of Abe’s Tri Series

Greetings Triathletes,

It is with great excitement that we share the Milestone we are approaching with the April 30 Abe’s Mini and Pioneer Sprint Triathlons at PORTA High School and the June 17th Stovepipe Sprint and Raisplitter Triathlons at New Salem.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Abe’s Tri Series and we are going to celebrate.

What began as a way to raise funds for the PORTA Fitness Center has grown into a fund raising force for many groups and causes in Central Illinois.

During the past 10 years, Tri Harder and our participants have helped build the PORTA Fitness Center, upgrade & maintain the PORTA pool including fix the pool pumps with yours’ and the community’s donations, fund the Music Boosters, Problem Solvers, PORTA After Prom, various sports teams, helped buy a medical gator for the Rescue Squad, sent a student to the Science Fair competition, bought school supplies, built trails, built bridges, funded a very resourceful ladies club that has been with us at every event, donated to Terror on the Square, Menard Trails and Greenways & New Salem Lincoln League which both assist in doing good works at Lincoln’s New Salem and the surrounding area.

In short your love of triathlon and our hosting of triathlons produces active healthy people while helping many causes and others improve their lives.

As I frequently state “triathlon can change lives” and you and we are proof positive.

Now for the 10th year anniversary celebration, in addition to the regular SWAG every racer gets and the challenging venues, you will be receiving a commemorative gift that everyone will enjoy for many events and what better way to celebrate an anniversary but with Cake.

While champagne and cake sounds best to us we might not be able to do champagne due to school and state site rules but we will have cake for you to enjoy after your event.

We are also working on new logo designs for the shirts and we will be offering a “Changing Lives Through Triathlon” backdrop for you to take photos in front of on race day, and share with the world to document your accomplishment for years to come.

On line registration is open at www.triharderpromotions.com and the site contains many details about all the events.

The other big news taking place this year is the development of a short movie highlighting the race venues and more importantly you, the racers.

So if you see a video camera pointing your way, smile since you may have a starring role in the movie.

We plan to film the movie throughout the season so wear your best tri kit and waterproof, sweat proof make up and become part the of the next 10 year anniversary at Tri Harder.

Thank you
