Legacy 5k/10k Run – Registration Updates

Greetings Everyone,

Happy Holiday to all, enjoy the weekend.

Here are the final dates and times to be guaranteed a shirt and save some cash for the Legacy of Giving (LOG) 5k/10k runs occurring June 2nd at Lincoln Park and Oak Ridge Cemetery.

To be guaranteed a shirt you must be registered by 11:59 pm this Sunday.  We place the shirt order Monday morning.

While you can still register thru race day, to get your shirt will entail you taking a voucher to the shirt guy within the next week after the race.

On line registration closes at 11:59pm on May 31st.  At 12:00am on June 1st race fees increase and you must sign up in person on race day at shelter #7 in Lincoln Park.

A photo ID is required to register and you must sign the waiver/release.

Take advantage of the opportunity to run in the 160 year old Oak Ridge Cemetery.  The nation’s second most visited cemetery and Lincoln’s final resting place.

Beginning at 6pm on Friday June 2nd, you can run the 10k or wait 15 minutes and run the 5k thru the cemetery grounds at 6:15pm.

All runners and walkers get on course support, a custom race bib, a custom race shirt, handmade oak “witness tree” Finisher  Medal, free entry into the Legacy of Giving Music Fest, free food and drink tickets for the music fest and the chance to run with Lincoln.

Awards are handmade from the “witness oak” that was living when Lincoln was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Very unique and we guarantee there are no others like them at an other running event.

Abe has signed up for the 5k and is looking forward to stretching those legs out in his front yard.  While Abe is trying for a PR on race night he will be available for discussions and photos after he finishes his run.

Keep an eye out for bib #16 and take a moment to run with Abe but don’t be fooled, Abe is fast and competitive and knows the grounds.

Sincere thanks for making the Inaugural Run a success and please take some time to enjoy the venue and Music Fest in Downtown Springfield, IL.
