Greetings Trail Trekkers,
We have many developments for the November 15th Abe’s Trail Trek. They include:
A new downhill trail section for the 10k & 15k racers, still fast and steep but safer
Chili and Vegetarian Veggie Soup from Keri’s Kitchen in Petersburg
Coffee and sweets from Los Rancheros in Petersburg
Cooked Bacon at the Grist Mill water stop, Yes BACON ON COURSE
the First Ever Bacon & Gels water stop at New Salem
New Overall Awards for the 10k & 15k Races
New Timing Devices to Prove Your Speed
Chair Massages from Aaron Smedley, free but donations are encouraged
Live Music while you dine
Hot Dogs for roasting on the fire
Long Sleeve Gender Specific Shirts
and much more in the works.
Come run where Abe wandered and become part of the Lincoln Legacy. You will be running in the woods, trails and along the Sangamon River before venturing down the 1800’s pioneer village main street Abe called home.
This event offers some of the best groomed, yet challenging trails in the Midwest. The 5k is beginner friendly, the 10k is challenging, the 15k is technical and tough. All are great so come Trek On.
