Moonlight Miles at Oak Ridge Cemetery- Good News

Ok Runners,

While it looks like the tri harder crew will get wet today setting up the moonlight course, the rain should be gone for Saturday night.

With the 5pm and later starts for most runners, the current forecast calls for no rain, light winds and warm temps and clear skies for the MOONSHADOW to run in past Lincoln’s Tomb.

Thanks to Mike Lelys from the Cemetery Office most of the roads used on the courses are newly paved and smooth and fast.

We get to run past the War Memorials this year and consider it an honor so please say or think a kind word for the souls that gave us our freedom when you pass the Eternal Flame.

The post race beer is secured from our friends at Obed and Isaacs and Hy-Vee will be dropping off pizzas to chase the beer with, or vice versa.

Thanks to HSHS St. John’s Hospital all entrants will receive a Finishers Medal that glows in the dark, as does your shirt.

On line registration is closed but we are taking race day sign ups from 3-7pm at the Lincoln Park Pavilion.

Guys, I need to put the challenge out, 70% of the field are ladies wanting to tackle this challenge.

Let’s increase that ratio for males and come out and have some fun in the cemetery at night.

I am sure the ladies will protect you if you are scared.

Remember, these events are a fund raiser for the Oak Ridge Foundation.

Please help us help this amazing place by running at night.

See you in the Moonlight.
