Ladies & the Moonlight Miles Event

Dear Runners,

We wanted to expand on the latest Facebook post about the Sept. 16th Moonlight Miles at Oak Ridge Cemetery Runs.

Historically this event draws more ladies than men and we can tell by the post many ladies are interested in this very unique night running event for 2017.

We wanted to assure all runners you are very safe on the cemetery grounds all night long and the road between the cemetery and Lincoln Park is closed to traffic so no one except race staff, volunteers and runners will be on the cemetery property.

This means you can run safely at night alone in a 160 year old cemetery without any risk to your person.

We will have volunteers and race staff on the course and all gates are locked but we have keys should the need arise to get into the grounds.

This closed, uniquely awesome venue and run can be the perfect “Girls Night Out” with glow necklaces, headlights, pizza and beer.

Of course we welcome the men but wanted the ladies to know how much you are appreciated for past participation and let the un-decided or newly informed ladies know this event is perfect for adventurous women wanting to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone while safe in a special place at night.

The roads are in great shape and we will have color coded tape arrows on the ground to direct your path and over 600 blue reflectors to line the course and shine the way when your headlight hits them on your journey.

This is truly a very unique run for both genders with technical, gender specific race shirts for all, on course support, Finisher Medals for all distances and new, handmade awards.  And as mentioned pizza and beer post race in Shelter #7.

Please visit for all the details.

Come run in the moonshadow of Lincoln’s Tomb and 160 years of history.
