Legacy of Giving 5k & 10k Runs

Greetings Athletes,

The 2nd Annual Legacy of Giving (LOG) 5k & 10k runs will take place on June 1st at Lincoln Park and Oak Ridge Cemetery.

That evening you can run at the Nation’s 2nd Most Visited cemetery, where President Lincoln now rests.

In addition to the Lincoln History this 160 plus year old cemetery offers beautiful stonework, architecture and challenging course covering most of the grounds.

The evening event takes place under the moonshadow of Lincoln’s Tomb but if you run fast you can be to the LOG Music Fest by dark when the music starts.

All runners receive a custom race shirt and hand made Finisher Medal crafted from the Witness Oak’s that were around when Lincoln was laid to rest.

Overall and Age Group awards are hand made from Oaks from the cemetery grounds.

After the on site snacks, drinks and award ceremony, runners can head downtown to the Legacy of Giving Music Festival with free entry into the festival.  As well as 3 complimentary drinks tickets for each runner.

The LOG Music Festival includes over 60 bands playing over the weekend with food trucks and vendors on site.

Runners who enter the event are automatically entered into the Summer Series which includes the LOG runs, the June 9th Levee Run at Rolling Meadows and the June 23rd SCHEEL’S 5k/10k.

Anyone completing all 3 events will be entered into a drawing to win a Garmin Forerunner 235 compliments of SCHEEL’S.

In addition SCHEEL’s has donated $50 gift cards for the Top Male and Female Runner in both the 5k & 10k.

All runners entered by 11:00pm this Sunday will be guaranteed a race shirt in your size and gender.  Anyone registering after that date will be given a voucher to claim your shirt at a later date
