Big News for May Tri & Bi

Hello Endurance Athletes,

Hope despite the weather your training is going well.  It’s now time to apply that training to the real world on race day May 4th.

On that day you can compete or complete in the Abe’s Mini, Pioneer Sprint or Abe’s Tri Challenge at a reduced rate and FINISH 2 Tri’s in 1 day.

This is such a tempting goal Abe himself has accepted the Challenge, he should since it’s named after him, and will be doing both the Mini and Sprint on Race Day.

Abe even traded in his horse and is now competing on a Bike, pedal on, Abe.

Don’t be fooled thinking Abe is a wee bit old and can’t compete. Abe is fast and a competitor on the course but a true Statesman and Gentlemen after racing so please get a photo with Abe on Race Day once your done.

Another guest and friend of Tri Harder is Tri Coach Tim Auth from Grim Reaper Fitness.

On Race Day at 11:30am near transition, Tim will be providing tips and pointers for your swim and moving thru transition.

This is a very popular talk Tim graciously hosts every year and turn out is impressive as is the positive feedback we get about the Tri Talk.

No charge and available to racers and potential racers, just meet near transition for the talk.

Other Big News for May is the return of the Capital City Biathlon to the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and the New Venue and Courses at Stuart Park in Springfield.

You can now Run on the Sangamon Valley Trail and Bike on the Lincoln Heritage Trail which is one Fun Bike Ride. Lots of twists and turns and not much traffic.

Registration has been brisk for this 35 year plus Springfield Tradition so register soon to get the Wheelfast Water Bottle and Biathlon socks which are both limited in quantities.

Remember, the FINAL Shirt Order for Abe’s Mini and Pioneer Sprint is Monday so if you want a shirt in your size and gender please register by 11pm on this Sunday night.

We are also going with a new Gildan model shirt for the ladies since sizing has been hit and miss.   It’s a 50/50 material but still athletic cut so we suggest you size up to be sure it fits.
