Hello Runners,
As if running at night in a 165 year old cemetery isn’t enough.
We have more incentive for you to register for the Sept. 14th Moonlight Miles at Oak Ridge Cemetery featuring a 5k, Quarter Marathon and Half Marathon, and here it is.
A Full Moon to light your way. You asked and we provided.
New Custom, Gender Specific Shirts and Logo
Later Start so all runners get darkness and a Full Moon
On Course Support
600 Blue Reflectors to show you the way
Finisher Medals for all runners who make it out of the cemetery
Post Race Pizza and Drinks
New Awards for Quarter and Half Overalls and Age Groups 3 deep
Awards for the Top 3 Male and Female 5k runners
Free food from CoreLife Eatery – Thanks to their generosity the Top 3 Male and Female Runners in the 5k, Quarter Marathon and Half Marathon receive Gift Certificates for a entree at CoreLife.
We love CoreLife and frequent it often for fresh, high quality runner food.
While it is a Full Moon on race night please bring a light of some sort or you will be lost. The venue is dark and there is no ambient light so the reflectors, cones, chalk lines and signs will guide your way but understand part of the challenge is the dark, and it is dark.
In many years of hosting the event we haven’t lost one yet so come prepared and you will have an amazing run at night in the Nation’s 2nd most visited cemetery where President Lincoln is buried.
Be sure to rub Abe’s nose for luck when you run by, you may need it.
