July 25th Stoneman, Abe’s Oly & Route 66 Half are ON – We Have Permission

Greetings Triathletes,

Happy Fathers Day and it may just get happier with the news of this am.

We have been granted permission from IDPH to host the July 25th Stoneman Sprint, Abe’s Olympic and Route 66 Half Distance Triathlons at Lake Springfield.

While the event will go on as it has for decades, the races will be different in many ways with the safety of all racers and volunteers our number 1 priority.

We will be adhering to the Safe Return to Racing Recommendations created with USAT, WTC, WHO, CDC and local authorities to make sure everyone stays safe while participating in the sport we love.

Please visit the USAT link at usatriathlon.org/safe-return for all the details and changes we all must respect and abide by in this most unique time.

The documents in that link will explain the changes for the Athletes and the Race Director and staff so it is considered MANDATORY Reading.

Please read the following documents:

USA Triathlon Safe Return to Multisport Guidelines

Return to Racing Recommendations for Athletes

Return to Racing Recommendations for Race Directors

Bottom line there are many changes and the event will be much different than previous years but it will go on and we have the World’s leading institutions providing guidance for us and the rest of the world of Triathlon.

We will continue to update the site as we get more information and will share asap.

Please visit triharderpromotions.com for race details and registration links.

Time to get in those pools/lakes, get on the roads pedaling and running.

And yes I can tell you from many sources we are all anxious due to lack of training and swim access but there is plenty of time to get back to training and please know none of us are trained to our usual levels for this time of the year.

So as the revised saying goes  – We Are All In This Together and Undertrained As Well

It’s time to TRI

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
